The flight: Rob manages to secure approximately 20 bottles of 12-year-old Johnny Walker Scotch from members of the KLM airline staff.
Amsterdam: Two nights at The Shelter Christian Youth Hostel in the middle of the famous Red Light District. Drugs, hookers, and pornography abound as Rob and I experience authentic Dutch culture. We navigate using key reference points such as the Sex Museum and Penis Fountain.

France: Rainy, dismal weather in Paris prevented us from seeing much of anything. Our real excitement came from visiting a small village called Corgoloin where I plan to work this summer. Joe Thompson, a recent friend of mine, gave us a tour of some of the vineyards in Burgundy. We also enjoyed a wine-tasting and tour of this 250-year-old cellar .
Italy: Despite a strike by some Italian railroad workers and sleeping on a park bench in Milan, we did make it to Florence. This city was without a doubt my favorite place of this trip. We stayed 4 days and 3 nights with Aimee Scaccia and her roommates. Their hospitality and willingness to party made Italy the highlight of our trip. Rob and I vowed to adopt Italian fashion, eventually learn the language, and without a doubt return for the wine and women that make Italy one of a kind.
